Ford has had a number of business problems in the last few years. As a result, Lincoln and Mercury have suffered from changing product plans. For 2006, Lincoln gets the Mark LT - an upscale version of the Ford F-150 pickup and the Zephyr. The Zephyr is one of three new mid-sized sedans that Ford is introducing from an offshoot of the Mazda6 platform. In addition to a standard V6, the Zephyr offers some different sheet metal and options to differentiate it from the Ford/Mercury offerings. The Explorer-derived Aviator is gone this year. It will be replaced in about a year with a new crossover oriented version.
