Toyota created the Scion brand to reach a more youthful demographic. Scorned by mainstream automotive critics for their funky styling, the inexpensive Scion models quickly found wide appeal with buyers of all ages.

The second-generation Scion lineup has matured. The all-new xB has grown considerably in size, adding about four inches in width and twelve inches in overall length. The styling features a smoother, more refined interpretation of its predecessor's boxy shape. Power comes from a larger 2.4L four-cylinder rated at 158-bhp.

The xA subcompact is gone, but a new xD model offers the same appeal within the lineup. Of the two new models, the xD resembles prior Scion models in size and power.

Like the first generation Scions, the new models have a fixed price and configuration, providing a 'blank canvas' starting point for customization from a healthy list of dealer- installed options.
