The Solstice provides the first real competition for the Miata at this price point. Solstice rides on an all-new compact, RWD platform and is powered by a 2.4L 4-cylinder. Buyers can opt for either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. A turbocharged GXP model features a direct-injection, turbodcharged 2.0L engine boosting horsepower to an estimated 260hp. The power increase is sufficient for a credible claim of 0-60 in under 5.5s. Depending on pricing, the GXP model sweetens an already irresistible offering.
