The Astra replaces the uninspired ION as Saturn's entry level compact car. Available in 3-door and 5-door models, the Astra is nearly identical to the Opel version sold in Europe. Both body styles are equipped with a 138-bhp 1.8L I-4 mated to a choice of a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. Standard safety features include ABS, Stabilitrak stability control, as well as side airbags and head curtain side airbags. Options include 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels, heated cloth or leather seats, and dual panel sunroof. The Astra is a sporty, practical alternative to the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic.
