2008 Saturn VUE XR

2008 Saturn VUE

The first version of the Saturn Vue suffered from awkward styling and a cheap-looking interior. GM wisely rebadged the far superior Opel Antara for the next-generation Vue. Saturn offers a choice of a 2.4L I-4, 3.5L V-6, or a 3.6L V-6. A Green Line hybrid model powered by a 2.4L I-4 and an electric motor/generator is provides enhanced fuel economy. For enthusiasts, the Vue Red Line with the 257-bhp/248 lb.-ft. 3.6L V-6 and 6-speed automatic is the obvious choice. With its firmly tuned suspension, the Vue Red Line is a fine handling SUV. An optional towing package allows the Vue to tow up to 3,500 lbs. Electronic Trailer Sway Control is part of the standard Stabilitrak stability control system. Available options include 17-inch alloy wheels, navigation system, heated front seats, cargo management system, and remote start. The new Vue is a competitive alternative to the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Ford Escape.

What's New

The new VUE has changed very little in size, but now features a stylish exterior and interior that is a clean break from the plastic body-paneled VUEs of the past. The VUE range still includes a choice of FWD and AWD models powered by four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines. A Green Line hybrid version is still offered as is the Red Line performance model. The newfound style and sophistication has come at a cost. Pricing for the VUE is up about $3,000 across the board.
