The original Sequoia was the first full-size SUV from a Japanese manufacturer. Now in its second generation, the Sequoia is every bit as large as rival models from Ford, General Motors, and Nissan. Unlike the domestics Toyota offers the Sequoia in just one length which splits the difference between the shorter SUVS like the Tahoe and Expedition and longer models like the Suburban and Expedition EL. The Sequoia has three rows of seats for up to 8 people. Sequoia models equip either a 4.6L V-8 or a 5.7L V-8 and a six-speed automatic transmission. A properly optioned Sequoia can tow up to 7400 lbs. Three trim levels are offered ranging in price from $41,000 to around $60,000. Although full-size SUVs have become popular as family haulers, their only real advantage is the higher tow ratings. Full-size SUVs with truck underpinnings are robbed of interior space with the body mounted over the frame. Modern FWD-biased SUVs offer similar interior room with improved maneuverability, cargo capacity and fuel efficiency for far less money.

What Changed:

Trailer sway control is added as standard equipment. All color combinations will now have black carpet and a black upper instrument panel.
