Collectors revere classic Jaguar cars, but modern Jaguars have lost much of their desirability in a market jam-packed with luxury alternatives. Jaguar has sought to change their image by introducing models like the XF that make a sharp break with their traditional idiom.
A new 5.0L V8 engine powers XF and XJ series models this year. In normally aspirated form, the engine produces 385-bhp, which is a significant boost over last years 4.2L V8 engine. In supercharged form, the new engine provides the XKR and XFR models with 510-bhp nearly 100 horsepower more than last year.
In 2010, Jaguar will introduce a new more radically styled XJ flagship sedan.
