Kia is positioning the all-new Spectra5 as the sport model of the Spectra lineup. The Spectra5 will compete with the likes of the Focus, Mazda3, and Matrix/Vibe. Power is provided by a 138hp 2.0-liter 4 cylinder with continuously variable valve timing. The Spectra has 4-wheel disc brakes, four-wheel independent suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars and a strut-tower brace. A healthy list of standard features round out the package.
New Spectra hatchback model has a more upright wagon form along the lines of the Matrix/Vibe. Power is provided by a 138hp 2.0-liter 4 cylinder. Spectra5 has a four-wheel independent suspension. Four-wheel disc brakes and a strut-tower brace are included.
"The Spectra5 was designed to be the sportiest Kia ever. As our brand continues to grow it was imperative to develop the Spectra5 not just as a complement to the four-door sedan, but rather a fun, exciting vehicle that stands out from the crowd and meets the needs of our young, active target audience." -- Peter M. Butterfield, president and chief executive officer, Kia Motors America
