The Mercury Sable (and its Ford Taurus twin) has been a mainstay in Ford's midsize lineup. A conservative restyling for the 2000 model year resulted in an attractive looking sedan. Increased room and a revamped interior round out the changes for the Sable. In an intensely competitive segment, the new Sable buys time for Ford while it works on an all-new replacement.
