Among the flurry of automotive events at Monterey in August, the annual Concorso Italiano brings forth Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Fiats, Alfa Romeos, and Maseratis, plus other obscure marques. The Concorso welcomes Italian cars of any vintage and condition, and generously makes room for non-Italian brands like BMW and Porsche, which get their own display fields. Visitors got the opportunity to see a pristine Ferrari 250 GTO, several Alfa Romeo Montreals, rare Lamborghini Isleros, and a stunning Lancia Flaminia. Examples of contemporary Italian sport cars at the Concorso included the Ferrari F430 and Lamborghini Gallardo, as well as a few Murcielagos. For a show with the broadest selection of vintage and contemporary Italian automobiles, the Concorso Italiano has few peers.
