Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) today announced that it will name its new full-electric SUV Solterra. Designed as a joint venture between Subaru and Toyota, the Solterra features a new, dedicated all-electric platform named the e-SUBARU Global Platform. The Solterra is an all-new dedicated battery electric vehicle that is related to the Toyota Bz4x. In Subaru's lineup, the Solterra slots between the Crosstrek and Forester for interior volume. With standard all-wheel drive, system output is rated at 215 horsepower and 249 lb-ft of torque. A 72.8 kWh battery pack gives the Solterra 222-228 miles of range depending on the model.
