The MDX enters its fourth generation for the 2022 model year. Compared to the previous model the new MDX has grown longer (2 in) and wider (1 in) with a wider track and longer wheelbase. Interior passenger volume increases to 142 cu. Ft. with more total legroom. The MDX continues to offer FWD and AWD variants, but the Hybrid model was dropped for 2022. A high-performance variant, the Type-S joins the lineup mid-year. The base 3.5l V6 is still rated at 290-hp but turbocharged 3.0l V6 in the Type-S promises 355-hp. A 10-speed automatic is standard on all models.
