2013 Porsche Boxster S

2013 Porsche Boxster

The Boxster serves as the Porsche's entry-level vehicle. The Boxster is a mid-engined roadster powered by a flat-six engine. Two variations are offered: Boxster and Boxster S. The Boxster's 2.7L produces 265-bhp, whereas the 3.4L in the Boxster S produces 315. Both models are available with either a manual transmission or an optional 7-speed dual clutch manual. Large tires and standard stability control help keep the Boxster centered. A power-operated top retracts in 9 seconds at speeds up to 30 mph. A host of upgrades are available including an optional active suspension system and composite brake discs. The Boxster is great for spirited top-down motoring and is the most cost-effective path to Porsche ownership.

What's New

Porsche's entry-level roadster is all-new for 2013. The new model is lower with a significantly longer wheelbase and wider track. The base powertrain is a 2.7l horizontal six-cylinder rated at 275-bhp. The Boxster S equips a 3.4l six-cylinder now rated at 325-bhp. Both engines are available with either a six-speed manual transmission or seven-speed automated gearbox. In typical Porsche fashion, styling changes are subtle.
