When BMW sold off Rover, it retained ownership of the completely revamped Mini. The original Mini had been in production, nearly unchanged, for about 40 years, a feat only exceeded by the original VW Beetle. The sporty Mini Cooper morphs into a more modern design, yet retains all of the endearing attributes of the original. The US version will appear as a 2002 model.
