2011 Hyundai Elantra

2011 Hyundai Elantra

The Hyundai Elantra is an example of a car that improves significantly with each new generation. The latest Elantra is roomy, stylish and fuel-efficient. With a wider track and longer wheelbase, the Elantra compares favorably with the top-selling Honda Civic in size. Models range from a rather spartan base model priced from about $15,500 to a well-equipped Limited model, which can top $22,000 fully optioned. A 1.8l four-cylinder engine is standard on all models. Most models equip a six-speed automatic, although a six-speed manual is available on the base model. Elantra's four cylinder is more powerful than other engines in the segment, yet turns in an impressive estimated fuel economy rating of 28/38(city/hwy). If you are shopping in this segment, the Elantra bears consideration.

What's New

The Elantra has been redesigned for 2011. A stylish new exterior is wrapped around a vehicle that has grown by 2 inches in wheelbase and 1 inch in overall length. The new Elantra is also a couple of inches shorter, which explains the slight drop in interior volume. A new smaller displacement 1.8l four cylinder is more powerful and fuel-efficient than the previous 2.0l was.
