The Golf GTI is the icon of sporty hatchbacks, and dates back to 1983. A 2.0L I-4 turbo puts out 200-bhp and 207 lb.-ft., which makes it the most powerful GTI ever. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual or the automatic DSG(TM) gearbox. The latest GTI has a multi-link independent rear suspension, so handling should be much improved over the classic models.
