The latest Tundra is fair warning to GM and Ford that Toyota means to grab a chunk of the full-size pickup market. Toyota offers a choice of a 4.6L V-8 or a 5.7L V-8 with 381-bhp and 401 lb.-ft. torque. Both engines are coupled to a 6-speed automatic. Standard 18-inch steel or alloy wheels can be replaced with optional 20-inch alloy wheels. Towing capacity is 10,400 lbs (2WD) or 10,100 lbs. (4WD). CrewMax models are available only with a 66.7" short bed. Most Tundra models begin with a base grade. Buyers can opt to equip the base truck with a Work Truck package with vinyl seats and rubber floors, but for most the SR5 package on the regular cab adds basic power equipment, cloth seats and carpet. Tundra Double Cab and Crew Cab models are also available in the Limited grade with leather seats and additional equipment. There are numerous option packages which add additional luxury features, towing capabilities or off-road abilities.
