The flagship Avalon is the most luxurious and spacious Toyota offered. Larger proportions and a more powerful engine set the Avalon apart from the mid-sized Camry. Avalon is offered in two trim levels each with a healthy list of standard equipment. All models are powered by a 268 hp 3.5L V6 coupled to a 5-speed automatic transmission. This is sufficient performance to guide the Avalon from 0-60 in a claimed 6.6 seconds. Optional features befitting a flagship product include power-operated and ventilated seats, reclining rear seats, laser-guided cruise control, and keyless operation.

The Avalon wears refreshed styling for 2011. Exterior styling updates include a new wider grille, headlamps, new rocker panels, and new tail lamps. The interior features a new instrument panel and updated trim. The model range drops from three trim levels to two: Avalon and Avalon Limited.
