The SX4 sedan is Suzuki's alternative to the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. With a 2.0L inline-4 coupled to a 5-speed manual or CVT, the SX4 Sport has a better power-to-weight ratio than most of its competition. The SX4 sedan is offered a variety of trim levels. A performance oriented model is marketed as the SX4 Sport. Suzuki tuned the SX4 Sport's suspension for a firmer ride and better handling.

The SX4 Sport and Sportback wear a revised front fascia and updated instrument panel. A CVT transmission replaces the four speed automatic. The new 2.0l four cylinder provides improved horsepower torque and fuel economy.
