One of Buick's most storied nameplates returns in 2011 on a new mid-sized front-wheel-drive sedan. The Regal is derived from the Opel Insignia sold in other markets. The Regal is very close in size to the Ford Fusion and a some 7 inches shorter than the Buick LaCrosse. Obvious competitors would be the Lexus ES, Acura TSX, and Lincoln MKZ. Two four-cylinder engines are planned. The Regal is due in 2010 as a 2011 model.
