What Changed
A 5.0l V8 engine returns and a 3.7l V6 becomes the new base engine for the Mustang. Both engines have dual overhead cams with variable valve timing significantly improving power and fuel efficiency. The 5.0l V8 under the hood of GT models produces 412-bhp and 390 lb-ft of torque while the new V6 produces 305-bhp and 280 lb-ft of torque. All Mustangs model now offer a choice of six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. A new optional performance package for V6 models upgrades the suspension and brakes to match the V8-powered GT model. |
