The Ford Fusion is a mid-sized sedan that fits between the Focus compact sedan and the Taurus large sedan. The Fusion is distinguished by distinctive exterior styling. Ford offers Fusion in in three trim levels. Both four-cylinder and V6 engines are available. Four-cylinder models can be equipped with either a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission. The V6 model features a six-speed automatic as standard equipment. The range has expanded to include an AWD model. A Hybrid powertrain has been promised.

Anti-lock brakes and tire pressure monitoring safety features become standard across the range. Optional SYNC (TM) system offers hands free control of phones and entertainment devices. New colors and a new sport appearance package.
