A 6-series convertible takes the large coupe in a new direction. Staying close to the formula of the coupe version, the 650i convertible adds a power-operated soft top and manages to keep a tight but usable rear seat. As the market moves quickly to hard-top convertibles, it will remain to be seen if this is a liability for the over $80,000 BMW.

BMW now offers a 6-speed manual as an alternative to the 6-speed SMG transmission or 6-speed STEPTRONIC automatic. Upgraded leather trim is available. BMW also offers an iPod® compatible interface as a dealer-installed option.
