The nearly invisible Mitsubishi Galant gets the Ralliart treatment to stand out from the midsize herd. Performance upgrades include a 258-bhp 3.8L V-8 mated to a 5-speed automatic, stiffer sport suspension, 18-inch wheels, and unique interior and exterior trim. Mitsubishi claims 0-60 mph in approximately 7 seconds, which is certainly competitive, but not class-leading. The 6-speed manual from the Eclipse GT would certainly improve acceleration. Interior enhancements include leather seats and aluminum pedals. Side-curtain airbags are now standard. A Rockford Acoustic Design(TM) audio system cranks out 360-watts through 8 speakers. An optional DVD navigation system is also available.
What's New
The Galant receives updated styling for 2007. All models receive a new front and rear bumper fascia and a grille with a chrome surround. A new Ralliart model is added that wears a distinctive front bumper, mesh grille and projector-style headlamps. The Ralliart is powered by a 258 hp version of the 3.8L V6 found in the GTS. Both models feature a new 5-speed automatic transmission.
