The Expedition is a full-size SUV with ample room and cargo hauling capability. An independent rear suspension improves ride and handling, and is a rarity in this segment. The standard 5.4L V-8 is coupled to a 6-speed automatic. ABS and AdvanceTrac(R) vehicle stability control with Roll Stability Control (RSC) are standard. A Safety Canopy(R) side airbag system is available. Other options include a trailer towing package, Power-Fold(TM) 3rd-row seats, DVD entertainment system, and navigation system.

The Expedition receives a significant update for 2007. The 2007 Expedition features an all-new chassis, updated exterior and interior styling. A new front end bears the prominent grille that is becoming a Ford styling trait, but in profile, changes are more subtle. A 5.4L V8 provides the power and a six-speed automatic transmission is standard.
