This innovative truck combines 6-passenger capacity with versatile cargo options via the Midgate® cargo/passenger compartment separator. With the Midgate® folded down, the Avalanche can carry 4' x 8' panels with the rear liftgate closed. The Avalanche is available with a 5.3L or 8.1L V-8 engines and a 4-speed automatic. The Avalanche 1500 Z71 package includes skid plates, locking differential, 17-inch wheels, and suspension upgrades designed for off-road use. The Avalanche 2500 can tow up to 12,000 lbs. Stabilitrak® vehicle stability control is available on the 2WD Premium On Road suspension. All other models have Auto Trac 4WD. Front side-impact airbags are optional.
