Volvo has positioned the midsize S60 as the hot sports sedan in the lineup. Sleek styling distinguishes the S60 from its boxy predecessors. Optional AWD ensures safe handling and traction in bad weather. A semi-active suspension (Four-C Chassis) is driver adjustable for comfort or sport settings. Four models are available: S60 2.5T, S60 2.5T AWD, S60 2.4T, and the high performance S60 R. Engine choices include a 2.5L I-5 turbo (208-bhp or 300-bhp), and a 2.4L I-5 turbo (257-bhp). Enthusiasts will gravitate to the 300-bhp AWD S60 R, equipped with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed Geartronic® automatic, and Brembo® 4-piston caliper brakes. Special blue instrument dials are unique to the S60 R. Lesser models are equipped with a conventional 5-speed automatic or manual. A Geartronic® 5-speed automatic is an optional upgrade on non-S60 R models. Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC), Bi-Xenon headlights, HU-850 6-disc in-dash CD audio system, and DVD navigation system are available.
