Chevy takes on the Dodge Viper with the ultimate street legal Corvette: the Z06. The famous 7.0L (427 C.I.) V-8 returns to the Corvette in the new Z06 (although GM calls the LS7 a small-block). This special motor is hand-assembled for optimum performance, and redlines at an impressive 7000 RPM. The latest Z06 is the fastest car ever offered by GM: 0-60 mph in less than 4 seconds, 1/4 mile under 12 seconds, and a top speed greater than 190 mph. Other unique performance upgrades include carbon-fiber front fender, 6-piston front/4-piston rear brakes, and a dry sump engine lubrication system. |
