The Impala is General Motors best selling car. With its medium-large size and moderate price, the Impala sits in a sweet spot within the sedan market. This is GM's mainstream sedan and Chevrolet is GM's mainstream brand. Reworked in 2006, the Impala features smooth, inoffensive styling and value. LS, LT, LTZ and SS trim levels are offered. The LS and LT models feature a 210hp 3.5L V6. Upgraded LT and LTZ models feature a 240hp 3.9L V6 and the performance-oriented SS model features a 303hp 5.3L small-block V8. All three powertrains feature a four-speed automatic and front-wheel drive.

What's New

The Impala is signifcantly updated for 2006. A new smoother style marks the outside of the vehicle while retaining the same look in the greenhouse. An updated interior features a new instrument panel, upgraded seats and flip-and-fold design rear seats. Three new powerplants are offered, a 210hp 3.5L V6, a 240hp 3.9L V6, and a 303hp 5.3L V8. All powerplants are mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission.
