Nissan's entry in the full-size SUV market is big and boldly styled. Unlike Ford and GM who offer two different length vehicles in this segment, the Armada splits the difference between the extremes with just one length. The Armada has three rows of seats for up to 8 people. A powerful 5.6L DOHC V-8, mated to a 5-speed automatic provides the power and torque for heavy-duty towing (up to 9,000 lbs.). A fully independent rear suspension improves ride and handling. Armadas are available in three trim levels ranging in price from $40,000 to well over $50,000. Although full-size SUVs have become popular as family haulers, their only real advantage is the higher tow ratings. Full-size SUVs with truck underpinnings are robbed of interior space with the body mounted over the frame. Modern FWD-biased SUVs offer similar interior room with improved maneuverability, cargo capacity and fuel efficiency for far less money. Nissan reduced the price of the Armada by about $4000 mid-way through 2013.

What Changed:

The Armada has revised interior door trim and new 20-inch wheel designs.
