The TLX is a premium mid-sized sedan loosely based on the popular Honda Accord. With prices starting at $31,000, the TLX is a distinctively styled sedan with a high quality interior and a generous list of standard equipment. The front-wheel-drive TLX base model is equipped with either 206-bhp four-cylinder or 290-bhp V6. For extra traction, the V6 model is available with Acura's all-wheel-drive system. The inclusion of all-wheel-drive widens the appeal to buyers who may be shopping rear-wheel-drive alternatives. Optional Technology and Advance packages add features like a navigation system, premium audio system or adaptive cruise control. The short option list compares favorably to competitive offerings where base prices quickly escalate with options.

What Changed:

The TLX effectively replaces the TL in the Acura lineup. Compared to the TL, the TLX is about 4 inches shorter in length and an inch narrower in width. Two engines are offered in the TLX: a 2.4l four-cylinder rated at 206-bhp, and a 290-bhp 3.5l V6. Four-cylinder engines are paired with a dual-clutch 8-speed transmission whereas six-cylinder models equip a 9-speed automatic. Both transmissions are new to Honda/Acura. Six-cylinder models offer optional all-wheel-drive.
