2012 Buick Verano
The Verano is a new small Buick based on the European market Opel Astra and Chinese market Buick Excelle. The front-wheel-drive sedan is powered by a standard 2.4l four-cylinder engine rated at 177-bhp. A six-speed automatic is standard. Compared to the next largest Buick, the Verano is inches shorter and 2 inches narrower than the Regal.

The 2012 LaCrosse adds some basic hybrid technology to the 2.4l LaCrosse to improve fuel economy. Power on V6 models has increased to 303-bhp. Trim level and standard equipment changes.
2012 Buick Regal
The Regal adds a high-performance GS model to the lineup. A higher-output turbocharged version of the 2.0L engine produces 270-bhp and 295 lb-ft. of torque. The new Regal eAssist hybrid powertrain adds hybrid operation, start/stop technology and low rolling resistance tires to further increase fuel economy.
