BMW is expanding its lineup of utility vehicles to include the 5-Series Gran Turismo. The Gran Turismo is a 5-door hatchback with a dual-hinged tailgate and seating for five. Despite the 5-series name, the Gran Turismo is dimensionally identical to the short wheelbase 7-Series sedan. A number of engines are offered worldwide including the 4.4L V8 turbo found in the 7-Series and BMW's ubiquitous 3.0L inline six.
