The SL is the top luxury GT convertible from Mercedes-Benz. With a lineage that dates back to the SSK and SSKL of the 1930's, the SL is the benchmark in this segment. With power to spare, the retractable hardtop SL convertible is all about indulgence. Engine choices include a 382-bhp 5.0L V-8, 510-bhp 5.5L twin-turbo V-12 or supercharged V-8, and a mind-boggling 604-bhp twin-turbo 6.0L V-12. Only 5-speed or 7-speed (SL550) automatic transmissions are available. The AMG models (SL55 AMG, SL65 AMG) offer straight-line performance that can only be exploited on a racetrack or the autobahn. Various available "designo" packages combine interior and exterior trim in a color coordinated theme.

What Changed:

A new 5.5L V8 powers the SL550 entry level model. All 4 models receive a bump in power. New front air dam front grille. Clear-lens tail lights and chrome-trimmed fog lights. On the inside, new door sills and upgraded interior appointments including carbon fiber on the AMG models.
