A competitive compact car from Chevrolet, the Cobalt is far removed from its dated Cavalier predecessor. Chevy has moved the Cobalt upmarket in price. quality, and features. Two normally aspirated 4-cylinder engines (2.2L and 2.4L) are available. The Cobalt SS supercharged has a 2.0L I-4 with an Eaton blower for plenty of torque. Heated leather seats are available. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. ABS is standard on upper Cobalt models. Side-curtain airbags are optional, and traction control is standard on ABS/automatic equipped vehicles. A Pioneer audio system is available.

What Changed:

The rated horsepower for the 2.2L and 2.4L Ecotec engines has been increased by 2-3 hp.
