The stylish V50 replaces the frumpy V40 compact wagon. Based on the new global platform shared with the Mazda3, it features thoughtful interior packaging and offers a lot of space for its compact size. While the base model is powered by 168 hp inline 5-cylinder engine, the T5 model features a turbocharged version that produces 218 hp. Equipped with AWD, a 6-speed manual, and a sport package, the V50 T5 is an attractive, albeit pricey, alternative to some other luxury compact wagon offerings.

What Changed:

All-new compact wagon joins the new S40 which debuted in the US as a 2004.5. V50 base engine is a 168hp inline 5-cylinder, while the upscale T5 version features a 218hp turbocharged version. A unique interior design features a slim center stack with storage behind it. FWD and AWD versions are offered.
