2005 Scion t2B

The Calty (Toyota's California design studio) designed Scion t2B looks like the natural replacement for the boxy xB. The t2B appears to address the two primary criticisms of the xB: frumpy styling, and a weak powertrain. Although the t2B doesn't completely abandon the angular styling motif of the xB, it presents a sleeker profile, with some design cues from the tC coupe. The 2.4L powerplant is a definite upgrade from the underwhelming 1.5L engine in the xB. Huge 20-inch alloy wheels house 14-inch brakes. Dual glass fixed moonroofs improve exterior visibility. Innovative features include a rear backlight that doubles as a projector screen for movies or games. Rear-opening suicide doors on the driver's side allow easy access to the interior. The passenger side features a sliding rear door. Speakers are integrated into the rear doors and allow the t2B to function as a mobile entertainment center.
