The 7-Series is the ultimate sedan in the BMW lineup. The current iteration has been in production since 1995, and is facing stiff competition from the newer Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Lexus LS430 sedans. So for 2002, BMW will reveal the completely revamped 7-Series with the new 735i (3.6L V8/272-bhp) and 745i (4.4L V8/333-bhp). A 6-speed automatic transmission is an industry first. Other innovations include an all-aluminum chassis/suspension, and iDrive integrated vehicle control center.
