Mazda hasn't had a SUV since the almost forgotten Navajo (a rebadged 2-door Explorer). The new Tribute fills a gaping hole in Mazda's model lineup. Mazda positions the Tribute as an alternative to the Honda CR-V or Toyota RAV4, which are smaller, and only available with 4-cylinder engines. The Tribute is powered by a 130-bhp/2.0L inline-4 or 200-bhp/3.0L V-6. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual (4-cylinder only) or 4-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive and 4WD models are available.
