As the successor to the Meadow Brook Concours, this Concours D'Elegance of America is among the best in the US, especially for its breadth of American marques. A variety of Packards, Duesenbergs, and Cadillacs from the 1930s were on display, as well as rare Alfa Romeos, and a Bugatti. Fifties and Sixties-era sedans and coupes were well represented on the show field. This year, more pickups made up the entries, as collectors are recognizing their significance. A few Italian exotics from Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati also at the Concours. However, the influence of the US brands among the show entrants is undeniable, making this concours a time capsule of when American cars were arguably the standard of the world.
