Due to the size and eclectic nature of the California market, the LA Auto show presents an unusual combination of sun-loving cars, alternative powertrains and radical show cars from the SEMA show in Vegas. Although there were plenty of significant introductions like the outstanding new Hyundai Elantra, no automaker showed more new/updated products than Chrysler. Chrysler unveiled significantly updated versions of numerous models and several all-new models like the Dodge Charger, Dodge Durango and Fiat 500. Nissan had their share of new products with an eagerly awaited Quest replacement and an odd convertible version of the Murano. There is a definite emphasis on alternative powertrains with numerous hybrid and electric vehicle introductions. If the 2010 LA show was any indication, things are looking up for next year.
