Nissan

When it comes to carrying passengers, lots of them, the 12-passenger 2017 Nissan NV Passenger Van provides innovation by the dozen. Offered for both personal and fleet use, the NV Passenger features eight standard air bags - including roof-mounted, curtain side-impact supplemental air bags with rollover sensor for outboard occupant head protection, and standard head restraints and integrated seat belts for all rear seating positions. It also offers 324 seating configurations and a total of six independent rear seats.

For 2017, a new 5.6-liter Endurance(R) V8 gasoline engine, assembled in Decherd, Tenn., replaces the previous 317-horsepower V8, while a new heavy-duty 7-speed automatic transmission replaces the previous 5-speed automatic. The Endurance(R) V8 engine is also utilized in the 2017 NV Passenger Van, 2017 TITAN and 2017 Armada models and features four-valves per cylinder, Variable Valve Event & Lift, and Direct Injection.

For use in the NV Cargo, the Endurance(R) V8 is rated at 375 horsepower and 387 lb-ft of torque - providing best-in-class1 horsepower and torque. Despite the increase in horsepower, the new powertrain also delivers an estimated3 eight percent increase in fuel economy versus the previous powertrain.

Also available is a fuel-efficient 4.0-liter V6 engine rated at 261 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque.

Cost of ownership and operation is another critical factor in the commercial vehicle segment, whether for major fleet operations or individual business owners. The NV Passenger received the VinCentric "Best Fleet Value in America"4 award for the 2016 model year.

All NV Cargo models come with America's Best Commercial Van Warranty2 - featuring bumper-to-bumper coverage of 5 years/100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Nissan's Light Commercial Vehicle warranty was inspired in part by the stories of Nissan Commercial Vehicles experiencing remarkable longevity under real-world work circumstances with businesses.

A Combination of Comfort, Convenience, Safety and Durability

The Nissan NV Passenger Van is built on a foundation of a rugged heavy-duty, fully boxed ladder frame, also used for the Nissan NV Cargo Van. During development, the NV Passenger underwent more than 7,000 quality and durability tests, including corrosion tests simulating 13 years of life in just over 100 days and 700,000 door openings and closings.

The Nissan NV Passenger Van's styling is professional and rugged outside and completely passenger-focused inside - offering a balance between functionality and comfort that sets the benchmark in class.

The NV Passenger's modern style combines a Nissan truck twin strut signature grille, pickup truck-style front end design, large windows with privacy glass and steel 17-inch wheels. Other exterior features include multi-reflector halogen headlights and available fog lights, chrome grille and bumpers, chrome outside door handles and outside mirrors, extended heated outside tow mirrors and chrome-clad styled steel wheels.

Seven exterior colors are offered: Cayenne Red, Pearl White (Premium), Java Metallic, Brilliant Silver, Super Black, Glacier White and Arctic Blue Metallic.

The heart of the NV Passenger design is its outstanding seating flexibility - featuring 12-person seating capacity with up to 324 possible seat configurations. The large, comfortable 1st row seats include integrated inboard and outboard wear patches for durability, while the split 2nd and 3rd row seats are completely removable and repositionable.

The 50/50-split 4th row seat then can be partially or completely removed as needed. Leather-appointed seats are available for all four rows, along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 8-way power driver's seat with manual lumbar support and front driver and passenger's heated seats.

Mobile office support is provided by an available large center console with storage for laptop computer and charger, business cards, hanging files, pens and paper and available 120V outlet. The space is enhanced by the design's elimination of engine intrusion into the cabin area - along with the fold-down front passenger seat that provides a flat work surface.

The NV Passenger's utility is also enhanced through features such as a low step-in height, easy ingress and egress without intrusive seat belts (integrated into rear seats), wide door openings and rear 50/50-split doors for easy cargo and luggage loading.

Comfort and convenience items include standard rear HVAC system with dual rotating vents for each row, available personal map lamps for 2nd, 3rd and 4th rows, standard rear cargo lamp behind 4th row, an available 3rd row 12V outlet, available 120V outlet in cargo area and numerous cupholders and bottle holders throughout the spacious cabin.

Available technology includes NissanConnectSM with Navigation and Mobile Apps, RearView Monitor5, SiriusXM(R) Satellite Radio (SiriusXM(R) subscription required, sold separately), Bluetooth(R) Hands-free Phone System and telematics pre-wiring.

Standard NV Passenger safety features include integrated seat belts for all rear seating positions, head restraints for all seating positions and standard curtain side-impact supplemental air bags with rollover sensor for all four rows of outboard occupant head protection.

The 2017 Nissan NV Passenger is offered in a choice of two engines, starting with a 261-horsepower DOHC 24-valve 4.0-liter V6 with 281 lb-ft of torque. The engine includes Nissan's Continuous Valve Timing Control (C-VTC) for improved efficiency and is matched with a refined, heavy-duty 5-speed automatic transmission.

The new Endurance(R) V8, while sharing its displacement with the previous-generation V8 installed in NV Passenger, features best-in-class1 375 horsepower (up from 317) and 387 lb-ft of torque, along with Nissan's advanced VVEL (Variable Valve Event & Lift) technology, which combines hydraulic-controlled variable valve timing and electronically controlled variable valve lift on the intake and exhaust sides to provide high performance and crisp response.

Throttle response is enhanced by directly controlling the intake valve, rather than using the traditional method of controlling intake with a throttle valve, and valve timing and opening with non-variable camshafts.

The Endurance(R) V8 engine also features Direct Injection Gas (DIG(TM)) technology, which provides better wide-open throttle performance and improved fuel economy and emissions performance (versus a non-direct-injection system) by reducing engine knock, improving combustion stability and offering precise injection control. An 11.2:1 compression ratio is provided by a new piston design, aiding overall engine efficiency and performance, and a Multi Control Valve (MCV) assists in managing the engine's thermal efficiency better than a traditional thermostat.

NV Passenger models equipped with the Endurance V8 engine are outfitted with a new 7-speed automatic, which features Adaptive Shift Control and Downshift Rev Matching.

The NV Passenger also features an independent double wishbone front suspension with twin-tube coil-over shocks, solid rear axle with rigid leaf springs, heavy-duty disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and engine-speed-sensitive power steering. Also standard is a 28-gallon fuel tank.

In addition, the Nissan NV Passenger features SUV-like maneuverability and easy access for serviceability due to its pickup truck-like front engine/full hood design.
