The Woodward Dream Cruise (WDC) has grown from an informal gathering of American classic car enthusiasts, into a regional automobile love fest (with much corporate sponsorship). Parked on the local streets near Woodward Avenue (north of Detroit), or cruising in the choking traffic, is a random yet spectacular assemblage of American cars from the 1940's to the 1970's. A few foreign cars are in the mix (mostly British), but the WDC really celebrates American cars in their glory years. Ford, GM, and DaimlerChrysler set up separate displays of heritage and new vehicles to stoke the fires of die-hard fans. The WDC is a truly unique event for anyone with a passion for American cars.
