Since the NYIAS is the last major show for 2007 auto show season, all the manufacturers scramble to debut production cars and trucks that will be in showrooms in 2007. The eagerly anticipated Subaru Impreza WRX attracted a large crowd. Ford released the Shelby GT500KR to keep the Mustang faithful happy, while the boxy Flex wagon adds another people-mover model to its portfolio. Chevrolet unveiled the Beat, Groove, and Trax, a trio of subcompact concept cars that point to future entry-level models. Jeep showed the revamped Liberty, which now resembles a downsized Commander. The sleek Infiniti G37 coupe further separates itself from its sedan relative, while the EX compact SUV is definitely more about "sport" than "utility". Lexus updated its SUV lineup with a redesigned LX570. Hyundai made a big splash with the sophisticated Concept Genesis RWD luxury sedan. With its S5 coupe, Audi enters a completely new segment with a sporty competitor to the BMW M3. Mercedes-Benz introduced the new C-Class, and the ultra-powerful CL65 luxury coupe.
