The Odyssey has long been the benchmark for all other minivans. Not only does it offer decent performance, more car-like driving, and fold-flat rear seats, it also carries the Honda credibility and residual values to the minivan segment. As a segment, minivans are unmatched in their flexible roomy interiors and the fourth generation Odyssey is near the top of the segment in almost every dimension. Compared to a full-sized SUV like the Chevy Suburban, the Odyssey can hold 8 passengers with more legroom and similar cargo volume. In the Odyssey, the 2nd row seat features two outboard bucket seats connected by a removable smaller seat. The center seat slides forward aiding parents with small children in safety seats. The 60/40 split third row seat folds flat in the floor with a pull of a cord. When the seat is in use, the cargo area has a large deep well for storage. The Odyssey has a standard 3.5l V6 engine and the upper trim levels include one of Honda's first six-speed automatic transmissions. With an EPA estimated fuel-economy rating of up to 19/28, the Odyssey is one of the most fuel efficient vehicles with three rows of seats. Odyssey is offered in several trim levels ranging from the basic LX model to the top of the line Touring Elite. A long list of features (some optional) include power sliding doors, a power tailgate, DVD entertainment system and a satellite linked navigation system.
