The Scion iQ is a small, inexpensive, and fuel-efficient vehicle aimed at urban dwellers. At just 120 inches long, the iQ is 20 in. shorter than a Fiat 500, but 14 in. longer than the Smart fortwo. The interior has seating for four passengers. Rear seat passengers have a scant 28-in of legroom, but with the rear seats folded down, the iQ can haul up to 16.7 cubic feet of cargo. A 94-bhp, 1.3l four-cylinder engine provides the power to the front wheels through a standard CVT transmission. The payback for the small size is a high combined fuel economy rating of 37 MPG. In its low starting price of around $16,000, the iQ includes standard power equipment a four-speaker Pioneer audio system and Bluetooth connectivity.
Scion announced today that its 2012 iQ premium micro-subcompact will begin arriving in dealerships this October.
