The Scion xB is a roomy economy car with seating for five. The boxy shape is distinctive and adds considerably to the interior volume and utility. Scion vehicles are typically offered in one trim level with fixed no-haggle pricing. Any optional items like alloy wheels, stereos, performance and trim upgrades are exclusively available through the dealer. The xB model is powered by a large displacement 2.4l four-cylinder engine rated at 158-bhp. While this is more power than on some competitive vehicles, fuel economy is somewhat underwhelming at 22/28 (city/highway). The xB model carries a healthy list of standard equipment and includes four-wheel disc brakes which are omitted on the more expensive Toyota Corolla. Buyers can replace the standard steel wheels and wheel covers with alloy wheels for about $1500.
