Overview Information

The Dodge Ram started the "semi-truck" styling trend that is so popular with image-conscious customers. Although the latest Ram remains broad-shouldered and angular, its appeal seems limited to buyers looking primarily for style and power, as opposed to the tradesmen who prefer Ford and GM. The Ram 1500 offers the optional 345-bhp 5.7L HEMI(R) with MDS (Multi-Displacement System) for improved fuel efficiency. A standard 235-bhp 4.7L V-8 gets the same EPA mileage, so the MDS HEMI(R) really pays dividends. Transmission choices include a 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual. Properly equipped, the Ram 1500 can tow up to 8,850 lbs.
