Understated design and a roomy cabin
Overview Information
The Lucerne is a sleek full size sedan, but has enough chrome to remind you it's a Buick. Engine choices include a SULEV 3.8L V-6 or a DOHC 4.6L V-8. While most competitors have 5 or 6-speed automatics, the Lucerne makes do with 4-speed transmission. The Northstar V-8 in the sporty Lucerne Super is tuned for more power and has a shorter final drive ratio for better acceleration. Stabilitrak stability control is standard on all models. Intended to compete with the Toyota Avalon and Lexus ES350, the Buick offers more room and power than the Avalon, and costs less than the ES350.
What Changed:
A new Lucerne Super model joins the lineup. The Super is powered by a 292hp, 4.6L Northstar V8.
