As an all-around performance value, it's hard to beat the AWD Impreza WRX. A new TR (Tuner Ready) base model is aimed at buyers who plan to personalize their vehicles with body kits and performance hardware. Standard WRX sedans are powered by a 230-bhp turbo flat-4 coupled to a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. Of course, the ultimate WRX is the STI, with its 300-bhp turbo engine, 6-speed manual, 17-inch BBS(R) alloy wheels, performance tires, Brembo(R) brakes, and DCCD (Driver Controlled Center Differential). The sophisticated AWD powertrain allows the WRX to provide all weather performance and handling. A viscous limited-slip rear differential distributes torque to the wheel with the most traction. Automatic transmission cars get an electronically controlled clutch that varies front/rear torque split as required.

What Changed:

A limited edtion WRX STI is be offered in a run of 800 units. The Limited Edition model eliminates the large rear spoiler and the roof-mounted spoiler to tone down the appearance. Enkei wheels and black brake calipers replace the gold BBS wheels and red calipers on the standard model. On the inside, the seats are finished in black leather replacing the blue seats. The Limited model also adds a power moonroof.
